Little Pharma

Here in India, I self-prescribe. Everything I request is supplied with a smile.

Powerful intravenous antibiotics, needles, syringes, analgesics, statins and anti-inflammatory steroids: all have been purchased over the counter.

This is an excellent service.

But I wonder about its implications.

There is so much concern over here about fake medicines, fooling even the big pharmacies. Have you ever wondered about the provenance of your purchases? Assuming all is well I have a Christmas list for you…

    • It has crossed my mind.
With some drugs I can feel the effect, or would feel the lack of effect. With the statins I can measure the effect. So on balance I am not unduly concerned.
