  1. Is it a minah bird? For some reason I remember them from childhood. I think they were good mimics and kept as pets. You never hear of them now.

    • Actually, it’s a common-or-garden Indian crow. There must be millions of them in Kerala alone.

      Whilst their character is very far from charming, it has to be admitted they’re an extremely intelligent and successful species!

    • The crows here seem pretty vicious – especially when you see them pecking an injured one of their own species to death. But, to be fair, human-beings are hardly immune to such behaviour..
