    • I drove through the Carolinas many years ago and they are beautiful. But to my eyes, Virginia is even more special..

  2. I agree with you about Virginia – something about the trees and hills, I think, and the lighting. Nothing flashy. We lived in VA some years ago, and I remember looking up in wonder often, almost being surprised by the gentle beauty.

    • Yes,there’s a gentleness to VA – it may lack grand drama but its beauty is on a human scale
