the tangle of electrical (?) wires has me wondering if you are caught in the black-out in India.

We were spared, thank goodness!
The massive power-cut took out a vast swathe of northern India but here in the south we are on different grid networks.
The present very poor monsoon, however, is an ominous sign of serious power-cuts heading this way. Kerala’s electricity is mainly provided by hydro-electric power and the dams have not been re-filled this year.
I begin to wonder if my battery back-up will be sufficient or if I’ll have have to invest in a domestic generator..
