Good to see the women there. Is it a mixed monastery (Women and men)? Do the women also sit as well as kneel?

No, the monastery is for men only, though I believe there is a Cistercian community for women near Calicut, in northern Kerala.
Most of the women who were staying on retreat, rather than visiting Kurisumala, were sisters from various different orders.
Yes, the women both sat and kneeled – just like the men – but the sisters seemed more adept at kneeling than the priests who were also on retreat! The latter were in mufti and often it was only when they concelebrated Mass that I realised they were ordained.
