I have been away again.

Good to see you here again. That’s a fascinating painting.

It strikes me that for some weeks now my camera has been almost as lazy as its owner..

Have you been to Madras?
May 30, 2013 at 2:03 am
Yes, several times – but not since 2008…
PS: it’s now called Chennai (!)

Oops sorry, that dates me! I only asked because it is 500 miles from Kerala. So I thought I was being rather smart.

Whilst not wishing to further expose your folly, may I point out that the image is clearly labelled as being taken from Cochin Airport’s International Departures lounge.
In future please try to pay attention, young lady.

I stand doubly corrected.
Sinto muito. Tem sido uma longa semana.

You have also changed things here and started speaking in tongues – that Lucille!
I went away too, to Scotland and it was gorgeous.

“That Lucille” has much to answer for – it was she who first got me posting and my blog title was chosen as un hommage…
Though I still question the wisdom of appointing her as school captain!
I will also be visiting Scotland. Later this month I am staying with my eldest son and his lovely wife. They are both working there.

I am very pleased that Lucille started you blogging. I cannot comment on the School Captain thing – we didn’t have them in my part of Wales.
Enjoy your stay in Scotland, it is such a beautiful place.

Blogging is a strange business. Sometimes I wonder just why I do it. But it probably reassures friends and family far away that I’m still alive and well, and like reading an old diary, it’s occasionally interesting for me to look back on.
I was made school captain of my primary school, which considering my total lack of prowess on the sports field still utterly amazes me!
