Neither Use Nor Ornament"Wading neck deep in a swamp, your revolver is neither use nor ornament until you have had time to clean it" Mary H. Kingsley (1897)
I love this picture. I reckon you’ve really done a good job with creating the image. The colour looks ‘unreal’ though – is it naturally unreal or did you tweak it?
A bit of both!
I took the shot with my compact pocket-camera which I try to always carry.
I find that both my cameras tend to wash-out any great intensity of colour so the images can look almost bleached compared to reality, especially in shade.
With my DSLR I can compensate for this by altering the colour settings to “vivid”. That’s not possible with my compact Sony so, as the colours of the fallen blooms had looked truly intense against the shadowed stone steps, I enhanced the tone when editing the picture for posting. What you see is quite significantly cropped from the original image.

PS: My choice of musical clip was inspired by one of your posts. Thank you!
