    • It looks as if they are – but I think some of the temple devotees’ shoes just happen to be there beside them.
      I’m not yet fully adjusted to the Indian military bands’ version of western music, and cannot help smiling whenever I hear them playing a familiar tune in what seems to us almost a parody. No doubt they feel much the same when they see Europeans attempting to cook a curry or eagerly take up a yoga position.
