About this blog
Following a childhood and working life spent entirely in England, my retirement was unexpectedly premature.
Rather than sitting at home wondering what to do, I decided to relocate:
to India.
This has resulted in daily delight, surprise and occasional bewilderment.
My blog is a diary of life on the Malabar coast. It is intended for friends and family:
An invitation to take the occasional glimpse at what preoccupies or intrigues me.

I love your blog, especially your photos. I find them so simple, but so beautiful.

Simple’s my speciality!
But seriously, thank you. I really appreciate your kind comment.

Hello. We are a small independent company that creates art events and makes films. We are particularly taken with an image you have created: Harvest Moon, which you posted on September 24th 2010. We would like your permission to use the image. I was wondering if you would be kind enough to email me so I can tell you more about the project we are engaged in. My very best wishes Patrick

Sorry Patrick, the images are not mine to give away.
As you will see at the end of the posting I have attributed them to the BBC News website.
