Journey’s End
Then, almost suddenly, our amazing tour of Ladakh was over.
It was time to say thank you and goodbye:
to Norvo, our supremely unflappable driver;
the kind staff at our “base-camp” hotel in Leh;
and to our excellent peripatetic cook.
It was also time to rest.

An Adieu
The twilight tryst:
The separation.
“I must climb alone, dear friend:
Yours is a different path to fly.”
The nervous embrace of new, and separate, adventures:
The wry acceptance of an awkward au revoir.
